Whistleblower rewards in Wyoming

ProgramWhat it paysLaw
Wyoming Medicaid False Claims Act
Covers Medicaid / health care only
No whistleblower share. No qui tam: W.S. 42-4-304(d) says the act creates no private cause of action; only the MFCU or a district attorney may sue. Whistleblowers get only an anti-retaliation remedy (economic damages, 42-4-304(b))W.S. 42-4-301 through 42-4-306
Federal WHIP$10,000–$30,000 per tip that leads to criminal chargesDOJ terms
Federal False Claims Act15–25% of the recovery if the government intervenes; 25–30% if not31 U.S.C. § 3730(d)

Wyoming law does not pay whistleblowers a share of state recoveries, so the federal programs are the main route to a reward.

The Medicaid-only act has no qui tam. A general 'Wyoming False Claims Act' with qui tam (2026 SF0092, W.S. 1-44-101 to 107; relator share 15–25% if the state proceeds) passed the Senate 30-1 on 2/24/2026, then died in House Judiciary on 3/3/2026. Wyoming is not on HHS-OIG's DRA review list.
