Whistleblower rewards in Idaho

ProgramWhat it paysLaw
Federal WHIP$10,000–$30,000 per tip that leads to criminal chargesDOJ terms
Federal False Claims Act15–25% of the recovery if the government intervenes; 25–30% if not31 U.S.C. § 3730(d)

Idaho law does not pay whistleblowers a share of state recoveries, so the federal programs are the main route to a reward.

No state false claims act: the 2004 Idaho False Claims Act bill (S1332) never became law (Idaho Code Title 6 Ch. 26 is now the Clandestine Drug Laboratory Cleanup Act). HHS-OIG conditionally recertified the Idaho MFCU on July 1, 2026. Medicaid recipient fraud goes to Health and Welfare, not the MFCU.
